Homeowner Reimbursement

Homeowner Reimbursement Program Has Successfully Concluded

The GLO allocated $100 million in Community Development Block Grants for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) to reimburse homeowners for up to $50,000 in out-of-pocket expenses for eligible repairs to their Hurricane Harvey damaged home.

The HRP program was completed in record time having approved a total of 2,962 applicants for $85,991,690

In January 2021, the Texas General Land Office approved the final reimbursements for eligible homeowners and completed its Homeowner Reimbursement Program (HRP). The program's efficiency yielded an additional $3 million in costs savings, which enabled the program to provide reimbursements for all applicants eligible under rules for the available CDBG-DR funding.
