Notice and Opportunity to Comment on Amendment 1 – Hurricane Harvey $5.024 Billion Allocation Action Plan

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is the state administrator for the $5.024 billion in Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funds (CDBG-DR) provided through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Hurricane Harvey Recovery.

Per HUD requirements, a grantee must publish the substantial amendment to its previously approved action plan for disaster recovery in a manner that affords citizens, affected local governments, and other interested parties a reasonable opportunity to examine the amendment’s contents and provide feedback. The manner of publication must include, at a minimum, prominent posting on the grantee’s official website for public comment.

Amendment 1 Information:

The GLO is posting the local plans for Harris County and the City of Houston as Amendment 1 to the State Action Plan for the federally mandated 30-day comment period. The amendment includes the two local plans detailing the distribution and eligible uses of $2.3 billion in Community Development Block Grants for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) in accordance with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements as outlined in the Federal Register posted on February 9, 2018.

The amendment will be posted for public review and comment on the GLO's website for 30 days. All comments should be submitted to by 5:00 p.m. on October 6, 2018, to be considered. The GLO will respond to public comments before the amendment is sent to HUD for final approval.
