Disaster Preparedness includes Pet Preparedness. The Texas General Land Office partnered with Austin Pets Alive! to create a series of #PetPreparedness videos to remind Texans to take care of their furry friends.
How can I help in case of a disaster?
There are many ways you can help your neighbors and their pets before and after a storm. You can help by volunteering at a local shelter, fostering a pet, or by donating much needed items. Local shelters typically need items like sandbags, squeegees, bleach, buckets, mops and rubber gloves. And most shelters are in short supply of volunteers who can help put sandbags against doors and board up windows.
