City of Houston - Direct Allocation

The city of Houston will receive a direct allocation of $1.155 billion from the State’s allocation of $5.024 billion at the direction of HUD.

The city of Houston has developed its own local recovery programs with the exception of the State’s economic revitalization program. The city council voted on and approved the local action plan on July 10th, 2018 for submission to the GLO. The GLO reviewed the local action plan and incorporated Houston's local action plan, along with Harris County's local action plan, into an amendment to the state action plan. The amendment received HUD approval on December 11, 2018.

On January 2, Houston officials approved a contract with the GLO for the release of the more than $1 billion in disaster recovery funds. For information about the direct allocation and to view the City’s action plan, needs assessment, program guidelines, public notices, press releases, request for proposals, and procurement information, please visit the City’s website at: https://recovery.houstontx.gov/.
